The Most Influential People in the Artwork Online Industry

One of the exciting things about the internet is how it has opened up the art world. In the olden days, it would take a long time for an artist to build a reputation far from their local area.

Today, thanks to the internet, it’s more possible than ever to show off your talents. And that’s just what many people have done. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at some of the influential artists in the artwork online industry. They span all across the world and work with a host of different mediums, including sculpture, watercolours, and photography.
Benjamin Hardman
The internet opens up the world; photography was one of the first tools to open it up. Benjamin Hardman blends the two. His photography is taken in wild, remote places, most typically in Iceland and other northern places. Take a look at his work, and you’ll be transported into harsh but breathtaking landscapes, where only wild animals are brave enough to tread—truly magnificent work.
Jason Arkles
The internet is a modern creation, sure, but it’s also allowed us to connect to the past. Jason Arkles is an artist that uses his traditional techniques and brings them to a modern crowd. On his website, you’ll find plenty of outstanding sculptures using old techniques. His work mostly speaks to a 19th-century style, but there’s nearly always a modern twist in there somewhere. His art is ambitious and grand in scope, and that’s just what we love to see.
The Tokyoiter
In the pre-internet days, you’d have to board a plane and travel to Tokyo if you wanted to see what art was happening in the Japanese capital. Now, you can navigate yourself to the website of The Tokyoiter, an artist collective that brings out the best of modern digital art. You’ll almost certainly find something you like on their site.
Nancy Taylor Stonington
If you’re someone who loves watercolour paintings of the great outdoors, then you’ll love the work of Nancy Taylor Stonington. She uses her paintbrush to create beautiful paintings of wild and rustic landscapes in the American West, including Alaska. A true talent who has gained a solid reputation in her field.
Beti Kristof
Beti Kristof has been creating art since she was four, and never looked back. Her evocative and colourful works of art have become a big hit with collectors. She works with oil on canvas and is based in LAs Vegas, Nevada, and won the International Muse Award for Fine Art in Oil Painting.
These are just a selection of the names who are making waves in the online art world. The great thing about today’s art scene; however, is that there are always new artists breaking through and helping to push the game forward. While some people say that the internet has negatively influenced creativity, the artists we’ve mentioned above -- as well as the many that we couldn’t mention -- have shown that this isn’t the case. The art world is alive and kicking.
Nick Collins
Creativity is not something natural to everyone. Art is a creation of one’s mind, fantasy or just a hobby. For me, art is a passion which gives me something to show the world. There is more to art than just mixing oils and colours. Some come with a message while others tell a story. When you look keenly at a piece of art, you will get lost in it trying to figure out what it means. However, at times I want to make something beautiful and unique.
